Chester PubWatch is a scheme to ensure the safety and comfort of our Customers. In association with many other pubs in the area, and with Cheshire Constabulary, we strive to uphold high standards.
The Police are working closely with us and the Pubwatch scheme was launched to cut down on the violence and aggression associated with drunkenness that sadly afflicts many cities these days. Essentially it means that troublemakers can be kept away from places where they will cause more trouble. We have radio links to other pubs and direct communications with the Police. This should be reassuring people about their safety in the city. The Council has installed CCTV in many places as well.
Most landlords in Chester are members of PubWatch and are happy to help anyone needing assistance or wishing to report a disturbance.
In short, the Watergate Inn takes its repsonsibility very seriously, with our landlord, Frank taking a leading role in PubWatch.
